Michael C. Lord, Esq.
Mike is an Eagle Scout with a bronze palm. He served as a Patrol Leader and Senior Patrol Leader with Troop 36 in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. Mike also is a Brotherhood Member of the Order of the Arrow.
Mike began adult Scouting as a Unit Commissioner for the Occoneechee Council, and then became a District Commissioner. While he relinquished those duties following the birth of his second daughter, Mike still participants in the annual Friends of Scouting campaign.
Following a clerkship with the Honorable Eugene A. Gordon, Senior U.S. District Court Judge for the Middle District of North Carolina, Mike began private practice with Maupin Taylor Ellis & Adams in 1989. He served on the firm’s Executive Committee at the time of the merger with Williams Mullen in 2007. Mike continues to practice employment law with special emphasis on OSHA and non-compete litigation. Best Lawyers in America, Chambers USA, and North Carolina Super Lawyers Magazine have recognized Mike as a top attorney for labor and employment law.
Mike earned a B.A. from Washington & Lee University, magna cum laude, and a J.D. from Wake Forest University School of Law, cum laude. He has been married to his wife, Deanna, since 1989.
